GET TO KNOWÂ ME
Hello, thanks for visiting my website! My name is Emily Davis and I am a Language and International Health major at Clemson University, with a minor in Gender, Sexuality and Women’s studies, planning to graduate in Spring 2023. The Language and International Health program at Clemson University combines two distinct disciplines, the studies of both language proficiency and public health on a global perspective. With my studies of both Spanish and International Health, I possess many skills that allow me to communicate with others and prepare me for a future in health care. These skills include but are not limited to a complex understanding of the public health field in regards to the American healthcare system, a basic understanding of the public health fields in different countries in Latin America and Spain, and how to communicate effectively in Spanish. My minor has also given me immense knowledge on the relationship between gender that plays a role in cultural inequities that have an immense impact on access to healthcare. After graduation, I plan to obtain a Master’s degree in Global Health with an emphasis on Women and Children’s Health. In the future, I hope to work in the nonprofit world of global health, advocating for the Hispanic and Latin American population’s healthcare in the United States. Ever since I was a young child, I had a passion for helping those in need and the best way I can make that happen is by improving healthcare equity for the most vulnerable populations in the United States. .
